Pattern source: Interweave Knits Summer 2006
Yarn: One hank of America's Alpaca, Suri Elegance (pale lime) There are eight grams remaining.
It's for me, and I love it! The yarn is wonderful for this pattern, as it lends a nice drape to the shawl. (I bought this yarn before Knitpicks Alpaca Cloud made it's debut. I think the two are very similar, but the Alpaca Cloud is much less expensive.) It's lightweight but warm, perfect for airconditioned rooms. As always, it's amazing to see the lace after it has opened up. Before blocking:
After blocking:
I'm not a fan of really long dragged out points on the edges of shawls, but I think the points are entirely appropriate here, making the border more feather-like in appearance. And the big holes on the tips look nice too:
Would I make this again? Maybe, because as much as I like the final product, there's a lot of stocking stitch to reckon with in this pattern. (I actually don't mind st st with thicker yarn, but you just have to be prepared for it with such thin yarn on tiny needles.) The Icarus shawl is my last green project for Project Spectrum May. Next up, blue June!
Amazing! I am getting ready to start the second chart on my Icarus. Yours is beautiful!

The simple pattern shawl is always the most beautiful. The elegant part of this is the lace edge. It is great.
