1. I like half of the knits in Kim Hargreaves' new book Amber, but here are just the ones for which I have yarn in the stash.
2. All the 'stash yarn' for the above projects had been frogged from previous projects or are waiting to be ripped, including a Kid Classic cardi started and put aside about four years ago for then oldest boy. It's an old Rowan pattern called 'Odd Job'. Now that I've seen it again, I don't know if I have the heart to rip it. Half the fair isle rows have already been knit, and there should be enough yarn to make it for the youngest boy.
3. It's been cold enough the past few days to put on the handknits. I wore Klaralund (not yet blogged) on Monday, and Raspy yesterday.
4. I'm sad that Rowan is discontinuing 4-ply cotton, a favorite of mine. Even though it's on sale, I can't bring myself to buy any because I don't have a project in mind. Oh, yeah, and my closet is already full of yarn.
5. I love that 360 degree video feature at vogueknitting.com that shows all the patterns at different angles. It's nice to see how something drapes, and there's no hiding wonky bits.
6. How much knitting I get done tonight would depend on how fast I can get Y's Boy Scout badges sewn on his shirt. I've been Procrastinating for weeks, and he needs his shirt tomorrow.
i am devastated about 4 ply cotton too... it is one of my favourite yarns, both in texture and in colour palette. I much prefer matte to mercersied.
while a big fan of kim H, there are fewer designs in this book that I wanted to knit. I do like the botton grey one though, it doesn't look too bulky.
