From the deepest depths of the pictures folder, a ten month old fo:
The pattern for this Kimono Jacket comes from Rowan Studio 7. I made it for Chinese New Year, which was about nine months ago! Normally, I prefer to use red for CNY (any color is acceptable to wear except white), but I was in a stash-busting frame of mind, and the Queensland Kathmandu DK turned out to be a good substitute for the Rowan Scottish Tweed DK called for. I ended up using only 9 balls of yarn.
It was a straight-forward knit, with little finishing, since the front bands, lapels, and collar were knit at the same time. If there's anything I might do differently, it would be to knit an entire belt rather than having a little tie at the front, so that the waist could be cinched in.
I wore this for three days straight during CNY, with either a purple or red top underneath. The yarn is exceptionally soft for a woolly tweed, but fuzzed up a little at the shoulders where I'd slung my bag. That's all I can remember about this knit after ten months. I really should get on with those fos! :)
I've had my eye on this one for a while, but the swatch gods aren't on my side. It looks really comfy and you must really like it if you wore it so many times :)
How did you go about choosing a size?

It's gorgeous, but I agree with you about having a full belt - I think it would be better suited. Love the color! (and that you can wear it with any color underneath!)
