What is your all-time favorite yarn to knit with?
I haven't used many different yarns but Rowan's Wool Cotton is tops in my book. It is smooth, totally non itchy, knits like wool but not as hot, which is great for the subtropical weather in HK. Jaeger's Extrafine merino DK is a close second.
Your favorite needles?
I like the flexible cords and smooth joints. Recently I tried the Addi bamboos, which are nice too but unlike the Turbos, which are super cheap in HK, they have to be purchased from overseas. Bah.
The worst thing you've ever knit?
When I first started knitting I made an unlined garter stitch messenger bag with a garter stitch strap, which equals a saggy bag about the knees!! :)
Your favorite knit pattern?
Only just finished this Lucy Neatby Triangle hat. It's easy and cleverly contructed.
Most valuable knitting technique?
Short rows, so I could say goodbye to staircase shoulders.
Best knit book or magazine?
I use Montse Stanley's Knitter's Handbook and Rowan magazine the most.
Your favorite knitalong?
I've just joined the Kaffe Fassett and Peaceful Palms knitalongs but haven't started the projects.
Your favorite knitblogs?
The ones on my sidebar are a starting point, but I'm very lazy with updating and there're SO many more I read regularly, with gusto! Before I started blogging, it was all about the knitting content. Now, I'm more interested in the person behind the blog. Of course, I have a special connection to Little Purl of the Orient, HK Knitter, and Eva's Knitting Journal, all of whom I know personally.
Your favorite knitwear designer?
I'll admit I'm a stocking stitch junkie and prefer simple designs. I like Debbie Bliss' knits, though I'm not crazy about the way the patterns are written. Kim Hargreaves. I must've knit about ten things from Rowan Babies and Rowan Junior alone. I guess I like Norah Gaughan too, judging by the fact I've got these on my wish list.
The knit item you wear the most. (How about a picture of it?)
I wore my Raspy yesterday, but the sweaters I wear most often, when the weather gets cold enough, happen to be my Chinese New Year sweaters. I think the colors make me happy! :D
